How to send over the data & images
For all card orders there will be a list of names and possible images. In most cases we set-up a file for your organisation that can be used and updated many times as illustrated below with Card Studio 2.0. So for run-on orders this makes the process much easier.
Data – This involves creating a database, often only a few fields such as name, position, card start date, membership number, etc which is best sent on an excel spreadsheet. From the spreadsheet we import the data into Card Studio 2.0.
Images – To make sure there is no mix-up please either rename the image to the person’s full name or make sure the excel sheet has a column with reference to the image name. As the photo image on the card is quite small, it’s best to take a headshot with at least 300dpi.
Card Studio 2.0
We use Zebra Card Studio 2.0 for our ID Card Printing software but there are many others in the marketplace. The image will help illustrate how we set-up the orders as placed by our customers.
Step 1. – We first design the card, or if we’re using a template change the colours to reflect the brand.
Step 2. – Add data fields to the card from the information provided, such as name, position, etc.
Step 3. – We import the data into the software, this involves linking to the card and mapping the data fields
Multiply Card Designs – We can offer multiply card designs for your order, this is more complex but just needs an extra column set-up in your data so the software understands the exact design for each person.
Magnetic Stripe Encoding – Within your data we need three extra columns for magnetic stripe encoding so that we can map the fields for each card.
