Saving Our Planet the Circular Way!
Circular Sustainable Drinkware
Circular&Co Mission – Striving for global change, by making Circular Design the new standard. Together we can build a waste-free, endless world. By using waste materials to make new products which are then fully recyclable, we can reuse the same materials over and over, closing the circle. This drastically reduces CO2 emissions, stops consumption of the planet’s precious resources, and eliminates pollution; the three core environmental challenges humanity faces.
As most of us know the usual coffee cup design just isnt cutting it anymore. Theres nothing quite like spilling a hot drink on yourself while you are on your way somewhere! Circular&Co wanted to design a cup that not only lookssleek but also functions as a TRAVEL mug, this is what lead to the non spill lid design that many of us know and love today.
The ‘New Circular Cup’ comes with a swift click lid making it completely spill proof when closed! Theres another really col feature about this cup that Circular&Co like to call call ‘drink 360’, once the lid has been clicked open you can drink from the cup from any side, making it the best to go cup option.
The ‘Circular Cup’ was the world’s first cup made from recycled paper cups, followed by ‘The Reuse Essencial’ and the ‘Circular Now Cup’ ! There are also versions made out of other sustainable materials like beach waste.
The Branded Circular Range
Circular&Co’s cups are a perfect sustainable and stylish option. They source materials from recycled single-use cups. With leak-proof lids and ergonomic designs, they offer practicality on-the-go. Available in vibrant colors and various sizes, they’re the perfect sustainable choice for everyday hydration.
After two decades dedicated to combating climate change and crafting top-tier products. The Beach Waste Circular Cup is now on the market: featuring the very poppular reusable Circular Cup design, now with an outer sleeve sourced from 50% beach waste plastic. The beach waste in this genius cup comes straight from Cornwall’s coastline, gathered during various beach clean-ups led by Matt Hulland, Resource Recovery Manager at Exeter City Council, in collaboration with Odyssey Innovation who advocates for coastal health and wildlife. This material undergoes processing to form the sleeve of the Cup, proudly manufactured entirely in Cornwall.
Following a repot from 2018 by the World Bank, it’s estimated that the world would generate 3.4 billion tonnes of waste annually by 2050. One way we can all help to reduce this figure is so simple. We need to gereate less waste and Circular&Co is here to help! In January 2022, Nearly 12% of plastic waste is incinerated, while while 9% is recycled globally. Sadly, 79% ended up in the natural environment or landfills. These numers can vary depending on factors like waste management, geographic location, and governmental policies. All over the world there are people working to decreace this number, focusing on developing and promoting sustainable alternatives.
The Circular Returnable Cup is the product of the idea that we should be replacing single-use coffee cups to decrease the amount of waste left in landfill. The idea is that your local café will serve your take away beverage in this reusable cup which can be returned and washed for the next customer. This brands ideology firmly believes in taking practical steps to make an impact and using their inovative Circular Design to lead the way. The idea of a circular world is what drives this unique brand, they strive to create a world where the products we use every day are designed to never reach landfill or pollute the environment. They’re creating tomorrow’s products from today’s waste, ensuring a fully recyclable system of products that therefore solves three of the most prominant environmental issues; overconsumption, carbon emissions, and pollution.
In 2003 Dan founded the business in the garden shed, originally named Ashortwalk Ltd. He had been previously working with Dyson. His motivation and visions for his new company was based on the dream to make, use, and dispose. After Circular&Co had its first big success in 2005, a stainless steel tide clock, and an office upgrade in 2008 the first major order from John Lewis as made in 2009. By 2012 the ashortwalk range had been massively successful and was featured retailers all across the UK. Following the value of circularity Dan started to offer a take-back scheme for plant pots, he was working towards making products from recycled plant pots, closing the circle on the product range. Over the next few years they had many more great successes, Dan partner with the brilliant circular brand Ecopots and became their exclusive distributor in the UK.
2019 was a big year for this incredible brand, the original coffee cup was called the rCUP and was released with a massive success with lots of press coverage. It was even titled “Best Buy for reusable coffee cups” and no.6 in the “Which Best Buy top 50 products” in 2019. They rebranded to Circular&Co this same year as well, further representing the values of a circular company. Dan began working with McDonalds in 2021, Circular&Co provided reusable cups for the very first Returnable Cup scheme.
Dan also began a project which took the plastic toys from Happy Meal and transformed them into the plastic which they used to make the kids playgrounds at McDonalds Restaurants. These unique projects earned Circular&Co their Innovation Award for 2021.Starbucks saw the potential of our Circular Cup and began a lasting and fruitful relationship with Circular&Co. In 2021 Circular&Co’s partnership with Starbucks resulted in the production and distribution of their very own Circular Cup, which is sold in Starbucks cafes across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Circular&Co collaberated with Tim Hortons to offer a reusable and returnable cup in some Toronto locations. The trial was wildly successful and became the foundation for multiple options in Tim Hortons cafes in Canada. The following years were full of more opportunities and awards, to name a couple; Indy Best Buy Award, Marie Claire Sustainability Awards. Now in 2024 we can look back at Dans journey with Circular&Co and fully appreciate the genius mind that started all of this.
